The Girl Behind the Camera

Hi there : ) I'm Amanda, and I have been obsessed with photography since I was about eight years old. I was that kid that would beg my parents to buy a bunch of disposable cameras, use them all in one day taking pictures of everything I could find, and then make my dad take me to the closest 1-Hour-Photo to see what I had captured. When I was thirteen, my parents bought me my first "real" camera, and it was love at first shutter release.

My love affair with weddings began in college, when I started to watch way too many wedding related TV shows. After graduating, I even spent six months studying to be a wedding planner. Early on in the process, I realized that capturing the images that couples would treasure for a lifetime was what I really wanted to be doing.

When I'm not taking photos, I love to read, cook, and spend time with my friends and family. Classic literature is my FAVORITE, but I'm one of the biggest Harry Potter fans around :) Though I've grown up all over the place, I'm a Florida girl through and through.

Our Philosophy

Picking the photographer for your wedding is a deeply personal decision that should not be taken lightly. Your photographer is the person you are trusting with the memories of one of the most important days of your life. Five, ten, or even fifty years down the road, the photographs of your wedding are going to be how you remember how everything looked and felt that day. They will instantly teleport you back to that moment in time so that you can re-live it over and over as many times as you wish. If you pick a photographer who doesn't share the same aesthetic style as you and who doesn't value the same things in a photograph as you, then you will not be happy with the photos of your wedding day. That, to me, is a terrifying thought.

Our Aesthetic Style

At Flora Bloom Photography, we describe our style in three words: Beautiful, Romantic, Timeless. We want your photos to make you feel as beautiful as you'll look on your wedding day and remind you of all the love that you have for your partner. We want your photos to be as stunning thirty years from now as they will be on the day they're delivered. We take a photojournalistic approach to our photography by capturing the love and romance that is naturally happening in front of us rather than directing a "show" for the camera. This doesn't mean we expect you to be models that know exactly how to be photographed. We will absolutely help you to look your best. It just means we want everything that we capture to be authentic.

Some of our favorite weddings

The weddings and shoots below run the gambit from bright outdoors to dimly lit ballroom. Each and every one was beautiful, not because of the decorations or the dress or how attractive the couple was, but because each couple was glowing with love.
